Parents

Windward believes an active parent community is vital to our school. We would like you to see Windward as an environment where professionals, educators, and parents learn from one another. That requires your active participation. We are committed to working closely with you to understand your child's learning difficulties and to help you become integrated into the Windward Community. Here are just some of the ways we work to keep communication open:

MS Student in class
  • A Parent Outreach Program is offered to help you become better informed about learning disabilities and the Windward methodology.
  • Three parent-teacher conferences are scheduled each year. In addition, we encourage you to contact us anytime you have concerns about your child's academic, social, or emotional adjustment to Windward.
  • Information about school activities is updated regularly on this website, which also provides access to many school forms that you may need.
  • Windward mails professional publications with topical information about learning disabilities to all members of the Windward community.
  • Windward mails you a bimonthly newsletter about upcoming programs, activities, meetings, and special events.

Most importantly, we want to see you at regularly scheduled school activities, where you have the opportunity to interact with members of our staff, faculty and other parents. We ask you to attend our workshops and lectures on topics related to learning disabilities. And lastly, we hope you will get involved in our Parents Association and volunteer your time to support Windward's social, fundraising, and mentoring programs
