Expository Writing Instruction: Part One 6/28-7/1 (Day 1 of 4)

This course will address strategies for teaching expository writing in all content areas. These strategies can be adapted in primary through secondary grades. Topics will include developing complex sentences; writing paragraphs and compositions; and revising. Specific techniques will cover how to add structure, coherence and clarity to students’ writing. Teaching Basic Writing Skills can be adapted for mainstream, as well as special education settings. Current research supporting this writing program will be discussed.
